SMN – How long have you been modelling? What was your first shoot like?
ALEXIS – Actively 1 year. I was introduced to being behind the lens 5 years ago. A photographer friend of mine, Nery, was putting together a glamour project & asked if I wanted to be a part of it; so many awkward poses later he sparked a passion in me I never knew I had.
SMN – What genres of modelling interest you?
ALEXIS – I really enjoy lifestyle, glamour, boudoir & fine art. All of these allow maximum expression of self between model & photographer. The best feeling ever is when two creative minds collide as one.
SMN – If you had to pick one, which would be your favourite shoot?
ALEXIS – Toughest question ever! I’d have to say one I recently did with a photographer named David. His style of photography really speaks to my heart & we created a series of photos with many colours of paint & glitter applied to different areas of my body. We wanted to showcase that everybody as individuals are made up of so many different things & each of those things are just as beautiful as the next especially when they come together. Too much cheese? Or not enough LOL
SMN – If you could do a shoot with anyone you wanted, anywhere you wanted, who would it be with and where would it be?
ALEXIS – Terry Richardson!! I like everything about that man’s style; it’s raw & gets you thinking.
SMN – What about mistakes, do you make mistakes?
ALEXIS – Yes absolutely! Mistakes are crucial in life. We cannot grow otherwise.
SMN – Have you made any mistakes on set or in the course of your career that you can warn others about?
ALEXIS – I think sometimes I let my fears get the best of me. We’ve all got that little voice inside that says ” don’t say that, don’t do that, but what if you fail? ” Well guess what…? That voice is complete bullsh**. Don’t listen to it.
SMN – What’s your biggest blooper on set?
ALEXIS – Getting tangled in my underwear during an outfit change & gracefully landing on my face.
SMN – What would you say your biggest mistake in life has been so far?
ALEXIS – This isn’t really a mistake per say. But my battles with addiction.
SMN – What was the outcome and what did you learn from it?
ALEXIS – The outcome of this is what I now know to be freedom. For so long I was chained to substance abuse. Nothing else in my life mattered including myself but through a few different avenues of help available I now live my life clean & sober; full of life & love. Love for me, love for others & love for helping anyone in any way I can. It’s been the best 5 years of my life.
