The TFP community reminds me of the club scene, going out every night to show off your new threads, flirtting with chicks, and looking for the elusive one-night stand.
The strobe lights going off, girls in sexy outfits dancing and making awkward poses, the smell of perfume and cigarettes, small talk, flirting. I used to love it all. I still do. Hooking up with a stranger is hot and intense, and cheaper than dating. There are no expensive dinners or presents, no need to remember her name, if she even gave you her real name. Just take her back to your place for a couple of shots, or her place instead, or a motel. Hell, even a back alley or a park could work. Now you are alone with her, set some mood lighting and pull out your big black lense.…wait, what am I talking about again? Oh right, TFP. See how easy it is to get mixed up.
Let me clear up the confusion. TFP means Time For Print, not Time for a Free Photo Shoot. Everyone is running around shooting under the guise of TFP with little or no clarification on expectations or limitations. Just like in the club scene, confusion and problems run rampant in the TFP community, and abuse does happen.
